A MESSAGE FROM CORé

I am incredibly honored to have written a song titled "STRONGER THAN..." that would inspire a vision and special emphasis campaign of the 400 Years of African American History Commission ("YAAHC"), in recognition and celebration of the strength, courage, and resilience of women of all backgrounds and experiences - historical and present day; sung and unsung. I am equally humbled to have been named National Chair of this awesome movement.

The campaign runs from March 1, 2022 (Women’s History Month) through May 8, 2022 (Mother’s Day) and will feature: a recorded virtual summit of over 400 women on March 10, 2022, marking the 200th anniversary of the birth of Harriet Tubman; highlights of historical and present day women and their personal STRONGER THAN...stories; the national STRONGER THAN...music video, filmed in Charlotte, North Carolina; and more. The "STRONGER THAN..." summit video, music video , and anthem will be publicly released on May 15, 2022.

Shout out to the 400 YAAHC, the National Honorary Chair Committee, and Co-chairs, the Executive Director, the Team Captains, and 400+ participants in 8 cities across the United States who worked tirelessly to bring this campaign into fruition.

ABOUT STRONGER THAN...

Circumstances throughout time have required that women rise above their fears, falls, health crises, losses, anxieties, traumas, doubts, perceptions, and a litany of conditions which, in that moment, might challenge their human resolve. To be STRONGER THAN... has been the internal and external drive necessary for women to face and endure obstacles beyond personal, historical, familial, transitional, and vast domains for over 400 years and beyond - still standing, whether in name
or legacy known or unknown.

The 400 Years of African American History Commission Act, signed into law January 8, 2018, established a 15-member commission to coordinate the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the first enslaved Africans in the English colonies.

The Commission’s purpose is to plan, develop, and carry out programs and activities throughout the United States that recognize and highlight the cultural contributions and resilience of Africans upon arrival and for generations beyond 400 years. The Commission will promote public education and will encourage work by civic, patriotic, historical, educational, artistic, religious, and economic organizations, particularly efforts to increase understanding and respect for the trials and triumphs of Africans Americans and those who aided in the story of this nation and its greatness.
